Good News!

God created us to love Him, worship Him, obey Him, and depend on Him. God made us to bring glory to Him [Isaiah 43:7, Psalm 86:12]. But we have sinned and fallen short of God’s glory [Romans 3:23]. We have rebelled against God and disobeyed God. We have broken God’s law and we face the judgment of God [Hebrews 9:27]. This judgment is eternal punishment [2 Thessalonians 1:9].

In His great mercy, grace, and love God the Father sent God the Son to this earth to become a Man. We know Him as Jesus Christ. He is fully God and fully Man. He lived a perfect life. He died on a cross to take our judgment. Everything we deserved because of our sin against God – Jesus took upon Himself. He died for us [Romans 5:8]. He took our penalty for sin.  He was raised from the dead [1 Corinthians 15:20]. Anyone who repents of their unbelief and puts their faith in the crucified and resurrected God-Man Jesus receives forgiveness of sins, the righteousness of Christ, and eternal life [John 3:16]. Here is how the Apostle Paul summarizes it in 2 Corinthians 5:21: For He [God] made Him [Christ] who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. This is good news! This is the gospel.
